Garden Tour for Connoisseurs

RAIN OR SHINE

GARDEN TOUR

for CONNOISSEURS

          Saturday October 13          9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The OHS Garden Tour Committee has selected some extraordinaire home landscapes for this tour.

These are the locations and a brief description of what visitors will have the opportunity to view on the tour.

McQueen Residence
2710 Dorchester Drive, OKC
The charm of this home's interiors flows out across a broad, covered porch to create an outdoor room that is comfortable and beautiful. A broad flagstone patio with a swimming pool flanked by massive pots of vibrant seasonal color against a verdant backdrop of hollies, hosta and ferns offer a rich setting for private family times and frequent entertaining.

Burkhart Residence
7150 N Country Club Drive, OKC
Behind this spectacular Mediterranean-style home lays a family wonderland that includes a Victorian-style greenhouse overlooking a waterfall splashing into a koi pond as well as a whimsical ‘Fire Breathing Dragon’ mosaic swimming pool. The expansive golf course view makes the setting seem far removed from city life.

Warriner Residence
2400 NW 59th Street, OKC
Architecture, art and landscape combine to form a one-of-a-kind experience at the Pollack/Warriner house designed by Bruce Goff. Dramatic sculptures by friends of the artist-owner punctuate the organic layout of flagstone and gravel combined with bold swaths of plantings.

Clay Residence
1708 NW 41 Street, OKC
This charming shingled cottage with its white picket fence is nestled into an equally charming landscape of evergreen boxwoods and hollies. A gravel driveway softened by a center strip of grass leads to a lush - almost tropical - outdoor room where guests settle into a timeless environment of an eclectic collection of plants.

In addition, Linda Vater invites members to see her garden that same day to support another wonderful but separate cause. Tickets to her house are an additional $20 and can be purchased that day at her home. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the OU Breast Institute. The Vater residence is located at 829 NW 40th Street, OKC
